All these years have passed and I was still looking for love...self love that is. I thought I loved myself, I like the way I look and dress, but sometimes when I looked in the mirror I would think, I need to lose weight, I don't like my legs, my breasts, my hair, etc. I also always put everyone else first. Where is the love??
So how do you love yourself? Give yourself pedicures/manicures? That would be nice and relaxing and wonderful to treat yourself, but is that love? Is it taking the time to spend by yourself? Is it as easy as doing affirmations each day? I love myself, I love myself, I love myself. For me, nothing seemed to be working. I realize that you need to love yourself before you can love anyone else. Unconditional love...have I ever felt that? Yes, of course, do I feel it for myself? I didn't, but now I do! I do affirmations each day and that helps to change my attitude towards the day and myself, along with heart meditations. I love spending time alone by myself, which is very hard for my husband to understand, who is very social. I began to meditate, which was challenging removing the ego and all the clutter, but eventually being able to move into the heart centre, is such a wonderful place. I removed a number of programs (all connected to lack of self-love), which was very releasing and freeing using Spiritual Response Therapy, which helps to remove energies and programs from past lives and this life. Speaking of unconditional love, we all come from Source/God/Divine, from the place of unconditional love, and we all work our way through our time on Earth, learning all the different aspects of love, so that we are able to return home to feel that unconditional love again. So don't look too hard for love, rather feel love, experience love, whether it is loving yourself or others. Be in love, give with love, receive with love, be grateful for the experiences here on Earth. They are the lessons that will lead us home.
